SIX FEET UNDER

I am SO behind the times!
Not having HBO, I haven't had the opportunity to experience 'Six Feet Under' each season, since it's creation.
I did, however, just see all of the first season, via DVDs I checked out from the library!
I didn't know, till now, that the creator is the same one as the movie 'American Beauty.'
I enjoyed the production & it goes to show that a little drama can go a long way.
The fact that the mother is dealing with the dating scene & the 'Gay' topic is alive in most of the episodes; leading to the delving into of the real stuff of life!
If you haven't had the opportunity to see this show, I highly recommend that you do!

I Miss My Friend!

Sometimes people don't realize that what they do to one person can actually have repercussions on other people as well!
I have a friend, I consider her my Best Friend, she doesn't have an online service at home, but the work she does has her on a computer for most of the day.
This allows her the ability to consort with medical & other business services, as well as, allowing her to communicate with people that would otherwise not hear from her because it would cost either party money in a long distant phone call.
The story is, that she has been confronted by her boss & is now making certain that she doesn't do any little thing to set the boss off!
She has had this job for over fifteen years!
The Boss is a character, as all bosses seem to be, & I concur with her, that she should look elsewhere for work; bone up on her Resume' & keep her nose squeaky clean while still at her present position!
She deserves more, she is worth more, she is too intelligent for that job, she is under paid & over qualified! I pray she finds something better soon; until then we both suffer!
I miss our morning coffee & chat time; now that she is staying off line, just in case the boss is looking over her shoulder!
This is now, not only causing my friend to feel inhibited indiscussing this problem with a friend; it has now shunted all of our meaningful conversations as well.
I send her an Email each day, though I don't want to take chances with anything further; I have also sent her cards via Snail Mail.
I just know if I feel so sad about this, that she must be very upset; having all this pent up emotion she can't share with a friend & get the moral support she really needs!
I hope this situation returns to its normal state soon!
If you are reading this Cindy!
I Miss YOU & Think of you often!
Love ya' Girl!

Vote! Let your voice be heard!

It is nice to live in the only State that does voting by mail!
I have already submitted my ballot; I even saved the stamp & dropped it off at my library, where they have a large steel box chained to a heavy cart for the occasion.
In fact I wasn't the only one dropping mine off!
There was a line of us, from seniors to single females!
So I think the word has gotten out - to let your voice be heard this election!
Don't forget to cast your vote!

The 18th & Final Round of Formula 1

The final round of Formula 1 is completed at
Sao Paulo, Brazil; with rain to add to the mix.
The finish was Juan Pablo Montoya: Williams-BMW
in first, Kimi Raikonen: McLaren-Mercedes in second & Rubens Barrichello: Ferrari in third.
Some season trivia:
This was Montoya's first season win & will be his last with Williams-BMS. He has signed with Mclaren-Mercedes & will be Raikonen's team mate next season.
This was Barrichello's 57th career finish.
Ferrari has placed on the podium on every single race this season!
Now as for the Championship points for the year:
Driver's:
Michael Schumacher-148 pts
Rubens Barrichello-114 pts
Jensen Button-85 pts
Constructor's:
Ferrari 262 pts
Bar-Honda-119 pts
Renault-105 pts
(This seems to be the first time in 20 years that neither Williams or McLaren finished in the first 3 placings!)
Now that F-1 is over,
it is time to enjoy Hockey & Curling!
My favorite winter sports!

This is the end of the letter, as seen in Joni Mitchell's album: The Beginning of Survival!

This is the Beginning of Chief Seattle's Letter

Joni Mitchell's Latest Album

Joni Mitchell has a new album & it is just a great as her entire catalog.
I have listened to her since I was a teen in the early seventies & I believe her lyrics have a depth & quality that is rare in music these days.
She started using her own paintings for the covers of her albums roughly on the Taming The Tiger album.
This album embraces the environment & how we are a part of that environment. Joni sites the letter Chief Seattle wrote to the President of the United States in the early 1800s.
This is an album worth investigating if you are not already a Joni Mitchell fan!

Count Down For Election Day

It is down to the count with only a couple of weeks left until the election day.
I am happy to live in the only state that does mail in ballot voting; so many of the Oregon state constituents have already placed our votes and submitted our ballots!
I just hope more 'Fence Sitters' decided to get off their tail and vote this election.
They could make all the difference in the world!
remember to vote-Your voice should be heard!

The West Wing Returns Tomorrow Night!

Tomorrow night The West Wing new season begins!

I am looking forward to some well written drama!
I got into the show only last year!

Two Good TV Shows For Political Information

I have found that "NOW with Bill Moyers" is worth the time to watch.
It is on a local PBS station, check your listing; It is aired on Friday evenings at 9 PST.
Bill has been highlighting many of the topics we all are considering important and some that many of us feel aren't being reviewed by either presidential candidate.
Another production to find some excellent political information is "Meet The Press" on NBC.
It is aired on Sunday mornings at 6 AM PST.
I record them as that they are aired at inopportune times.
I then can sit back with a tea, during a more available occasion, and view the programs.
If you are like me, looking for all the details possible in the candidacy for president and the future balance of Republican or Democratic control over the House & Senate, then watch these shows for the information you are missing!

The Ending Episodes of DS9

I finally saw the ending!
Some of you may be saying to yourselves "Sheesh, that was back in 1999!"
Well, I was stationed overseas, with NATO & dealing with the peak of Milosevic's ethnic cleansing.
I didn't have American TV & the Armed Forces Network wasn't providing any Star Trek during this time!
I had to go on a German or Italian network to get the Formula 1 races & Golf tournaments where found on the British Network.
So, last night I finally saw the last 2 episodes.
I won't critique them, I am just glad to be home, here in the United States, knowing Slobodan Milosevic is awaiting trial for his war crimes.

The Third Presidential Debate

In the Gallop Poll, taken just after the Debate,
Kerry was ahead 52 percent to Bush's 39 percent.
These results are quite similar to other polls taken around the country!
Every bit of an edge we can get will make all this effort worthwhile!

One of my favorite Restaurants

There is no question that P.F. Chang's China Bistro is one of my Favorites!
If you go...Make certain to order the Lettuce Warps appetizer & remember they will bring out more lettuce for free! Much like Mexican restaurants & their homemade chips!
Check out their menu's & locations!
If you've never been, try it!
If you already have, you know what I'm talking about!
Make P.F. Chang's China Bistro a special haunt for those
special occasions!
I am more please with one having gone in right here in town!

Formula 1 Race in Suzuka, Japan

Well Race Fans it was a great race with less excitement.
Seems even the excitement is winding down with only one race left after this one.
Michael Schumaker showed why he will be crowned a the seven time world champion with his 8th win at Suzuka!
In all the races that he finished, he was either in first or second place!
Ralf Schumaker made a great come-back after his terrible accident at Indianapolis, coming in second to stand at the podium with his Brother Michael.
With Jenson Button coming in third, Bar-Honda is just leading for the second place constructors title.
We will see how it all plays out for the end of the season on October 24th in Brazil!

I Couldn't Say It Any Better! Joe Says It Perfectly!

I will let John Lockhart speak since he is Kerry's Senior Advisor & really know's what is going on!
Here is his qoute of tonight's debate:
"Two presidential debates and two clear wins.
John Kerry is going to be the next president
of the United States,
and more people know it now than just two short hours ago.
Tonight, George Bush had another chance to make his case
to the American people. Again he failed.
Again, he showed that he is out of touch with reality on Iraq.
Again, he offered no plan for jobs
and no plan for cutting the cost of health care.
Again, he pretended that our problems don't exist.
Again, he refused to level with the American people.
George Bush just doesn't get it, so he can't fix it.
John Kerry held George Bush accountable for the failures of the last four years.
He demonstrated the strength and character we need in a president.
He made it clear he could lead as commander in chief.
John Kerry offered real solutions to real problems.
He told America the truth, and offered a plan
for a fresh start on the economy, Iraq, and the war on terror. Simply put, he was presidential.
Ironically, the president was not.
Right now, I'm here on the front lines in St. Louis.
Down the hall is what they call the "spin room."
It is where Republican operatives are trying to put their best face on what was another clear victory for John Kerry.
I've done this a few times before, and I can tell you firsthand that my job is a lot easier when our candidate has a big night like John Kerry did tonight.
I know, and more importantly John Kerry knows, how hard YOU are going to work to make sure the Bush campaign doesn't spin this debate."
Take action
Sincerely,
Joe Lockhart~Senior Advisor

Friday's Presidential Debate

I do hope that Friday's debate shows a little more character than the last.
It was obvious that Bush was critical of Kerry nailing him on every issue.
The fact that they could not react to each others comments left it rather unappealing.
The truth needs to be spoken & not forced
into some scenario to be controlled & played out as Bush sees fit!
Boy do we need an administration change!

The Vice Presidential Debate

Last nights debate between Edwards & Cheney went well for the democrat's.
Edwards held his own on all topics that Cheney tried to slur.
Not only was Edwards above Par, he noticed a point when it really wasn't his turn to speak.
I believe Edwards gave a dashing show to prove it is
time for a Regime change here at home!

The Debates

Even with the 32 pages of requirements set for the debates, I feel Kerry proved to be stronger.
Bush's statement were as hollow

as a ping pong ball!
How many times can you say the same damn thing
before it gets old & boring!
Lying to the country & saying that the military will stay a volunteer military when he knows damn well that HR163 is set to go in action in June 2005 establishing the draft!
There is nothing this man can say to make me believe in him!
I know where my vote is going!

I only hope Kerry wins!
I would hate to have to leave this country & live in Canada to escape Bush's tyranny!
