A Campaign Going Well

I have just returned from visiting yet another Post in my Vet organization, of which I am campaigning for Grand Commander.
It was a great time and not only did all say they would support me and vote for me, they went one step further and voted to have the entire Post back me!
WOW! This girl is getting closer and closer to the time of elections and the votes are piling up in my bag!

Hotmail

It seems that Hotmail is having trouble as I have yet to be able to open or delete any Emails this week.
Has anyone else had trouble?
I hope it is cleared up soon!

Mowing in The Pacific Northwest

Spring is in the air and the grass is growing. Yet here in the Pacific Northwest one must sometimes mow 'between the rain drops!'
My neighbors were all lucky and mowed their lawns this weekend when there wasn't any rain. I had partaken in the delights of Spring and only got one lawn mowed.
I am enjoying the weather even if it rains and cannot mow my front lawn right now!

A Most Splendid Day with My Mother

I am my mother's daughter and that accounts for having a mind of my own.
This usually causes my mother and I to never see eye-to-eye.
Well life is too short to complain and as the saying goes-'You cannot chose your family.'
I have decided from now on to enjoy time with my mother and she too has made amends to at least chose not to conflict with something.
We had a lovely lunch at a quaint little Diner and talked of all sorts of things without one single snag of disagreement!
So pleasant! It's times like this I want to share with my mother and I am so pleased to have this delightful memory now!

My Own Campaigning

I am active in several Vet organizations and one in particular I have been active on the state level and plan to move along through the chairs to the office of Commander.
Last month the present Commander visited our local meeting and after spoke with me and asked me to run for Commander, as that there seemed no one else able to this coming year.
So I jumped on the band wagon, rolled up my sleeves and started moving forward on this.
Then, almost out of the blue, I get an Email from him the very next week stating he was running as well!
I am going throughout the state to each meeting and talking with the members to let them know I am running and will bring new and fresh ideas to the organization even if I am a little green.
I have every intention on winning and am upset with these underhanded issues and lying.
Even in small ponds you can find jerks who want to be the big fish for as long as they can.

Snow Flower and The Secret Fan

As I read Lisa Lee's Novel, with its historic relevance, ponder the human tragedy of women throughout time.
How societies can pass off half of their peoples as human chattel worth less than cows dung when dry it at least can bring heat when burned.
It is no wonder that the Pagan rituals and Earthly faiths have been all but lost with their acceptance of mother earth and the woman divine.
To have my feet bound just because men appreciate small feet and to have a household caste where and Aunt is the lowest member.
I am so glad to be living Right Here, Right Now!

Casino Royale & Little Miss Sunshine

Casino Royale-The remake of the first James Bond film-is very good! It sets the date to the present and places Bond at the early portion of his career when he first is designated with a OO-license to kill.
Many nuances within the film such as his Martinis and side jokes. I like this Daniel Craig and hope they make more Bonds with him and Judy Dench as 'M'.
Little Miss Sunshine took me a long time to warm up to the film. In fact quite near the end is when I became fond of it. I have to admit I felt Eddie Murphy's frustration at the Oscars. For only having been in the film 35 minutes and a Very bit part supporting actor whose name is the last in the credits-Alan Arkin won the academy award for for his work in this film. A tragedy to all the others nominated.

A Great Foreign Film Trilogy

If you are one who isn't intimidated by foreign films with subtitles and like to widen your film variety I highly recommend this Pop Noir Korean film Trilogy called-REVENGE TRILOGY.
2002 - Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance
2003 - OLD BOY
2005 - Lady Vengeance
Director Chan Wook Park created these bold characters in highly repressed environments with social, monetary, psychological & in some cases physical pressures.
The closest American Pop Noir-as I call it-that is similar in American film might be Pulp Fiction.
So...if you were one of the many who enjoyed the oddities of Pulp Fiction then you certainly will see a few similarities-in Korean fashion-in the Revenge Trilogy!
Don't pass on foreign films just because of subtitles!
There is great film work done in other countries and the art stands for itself in any language!

A Weekend with the Washington Cooties

I had a marvelous weekend in Bremerton, Washington with the Military Order of The Cootie Washington Grand.
It is always nice to see and visit with folks you only see a few times a year and to meet new friends as well.
There are a couple of our Oregon Grand members who actively support the events of the Washington Grand and so many of them come down to Oregon to our events and I decided this year I would do the same.
Especially since I recently began my politicking for Oregon Grand Commander for this next year '07-'08!
After I mentioned I would run, the present Grand Commander decided to run again! It'll be a nice race and I have every intention of winning!

Spring is in the Air!

What a lovely day! It is so clear and bright and warm that I began my Spring cleaning by taking off al the window screens on the back of the house and cleaning them and hosing down the eaves and rinsing the windows.
I then went back later and cleaned the windows to a sparkling shine and replaced the screens!
I also put up the birdseed feeder that I take down in the Winter because it molds from all the Winter rains.
The bird bath is up and I have the windows open for the first time this year!
I am ready for Spring!

Not only do I love a good Documentary, but I love anything about Quantum Physics and just saw the 2004 Documentary "What the Bleep do we know!"

Great fim and I believe I will watch it again tonight before returning it!

Museum Glass

I recently had three heirloom items framed and decided to pay the extra fro museum glass and I have to tell you it makes all the difference in the world.
You would swear there wasn't even any glass in the frame!
I am so happy I paid the extra for these framed items!
